Jenine Milum is a 33-year resident of Georgia who has raised two female athletes who have attended Georgia public schools. Originally from MorganTown, West Virginia, Milum’s career experience includes work as a software engineer for clients with the objectives to stop consumer fraud and human trafficking.
Milum has been endorsed by DeKalb County Republican Chair Marci McCarthy and the Georgia Log Cabin.
“Jenine Milum is energetic, motivated, and productive. With her business experience and take-charge attitude, she is he exact type of leader that DeKalb needs. She has my complete endorsement for Georgia House of Representatives District 82,” McCarthy said.
“The Georgia Log Cabin is proud to endorse Jenine Milum for State House of Representatives for District 82,” the Georgia Log Cabin said.
Milum’s opponent in November in the 82nd District Race for Georgia State House is the incumbent Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur).
Economic and Inflation Recovery
“The empty shelves and higher prices are fueled by supply chain issues and a shortage of qualified workers. Jenine will look to create and support legislation to aid businesses, encourage Georgians to get back to work, and provide opportunities to learn skilled trades,” Milum said.
Public Safety
“Public safety concerns are not limited to the problems at the border. We need more resources for school safety, more robust training for mental health crises and a better working partnership between our community, schools, and local law enforcement. Most especially, we need better pay, benefits, and training for the law enforcement officers who are on the front lines protecting our communities and keeping our families safe,” Milum said.
Milum took to Twitter to raise the issue of the on-going Fentanyl crisis that has gripped the United States, in response to a post made by the DeKalb County Police Department.
“With our borders wide open and drugs flooding into our country, it couldn’t be more clear we need to shut down our border to protect our citizens from this scourge,” Milum said on Sunday.
Lower Taxes
“Support for the Georgia Fair Tax bill which will remove the state income tax. Nine states, including our sister states of Tennessee and Florida, have adopted this approach with great success. This bill will remove the inequities in our current tax system,” Milum said.
Protection of Children
“Having raised children in Georgia public schools, Jenine will defend parents’ rights to protect our children, let teachers be teachers, and advocate for educational opportunities through Education Saving Accounts and School Choice. Our schools will be an educational environment that thrives, promotes learning and innovation as well as develops the essential skills that open the doors of opportunity.”
Election Integrity
“There are a few issues as critical as election integrity. While SB202 (Georgia’s election Integrity Act) goes a long way to protect our legal votes, more work needs to be done. Jenine supports an Election Law Enforcement Division that would investigate election crimes. You can help to secure your vote by voting early and in person.”
Government Overreach
“As your representative, Jenine will always vote against mandates that hurt our livies and livelihoods,” her website said.
“[I] will support legislation to make health care more affordable more available, and predictable without resorting to radical socialist healthcare policies,” Milum said.
Human Trafficking
“Atlanta is one of the top 14 cities with high rates of human trafficking. [I] am committed to working with law enforcement and legislators alike to hold bad actors accountable and pass legislation that will eradicate this issues as well as protect the victims,” she said.
Defending Parental Rights
“Having raised two female athletes, [I] know first-hand the need for parental rights to defend and protect our children and their education.” Milum said.
Milum was also recently present at the GA5th & 11th Annual Marksmanship and BBQ event. Also present were the DeKalb County GOP Chairwoman Marci McCarthy, GA-05 nominee Christian Zimm (R), Jodi Diodati (R- ), and Mary Williams Benefield
